1. A dirty AR15 fire 1,000 rounds without FTFs or FTEs.
Actually I see this all the time and in all the ARs I've ever owned in 20 years I only had problems with one that I got from someone else. It is fixed now and has a 0 error performance rate since coming back from Colt. 2. A AKM (7.62x39) fail. Actually I've seen 3 different ones fail in the last year. All were Sar 1s, and a Sar 2, and one Sar 1 seemed to FTE every 6th round or so. The Sar 2 had a bolt that travelled over a fired hammer trapping it under the bolt. 3. A Special Weapons / Tactical Weapons Training Academy product work. Actually it was not a SW / TWAT gun but the sten mag conversion for the HK USC. And it wasn't installed by SW but by a real HK Armorer. I think the fact that it was installed on a factory HK gun had a lot to do with it, but I have heard that the mag conversion for the HK SL8 is much less reliable. 4. A guy from AR15.com that can't shoot 1MOA with iron sights. Actually I've seen a LOT of these.  5. A CAI G3 owner finally understand when he shot a real HK91. |

I assembled an AR15 for an acquaintance I know. He is rather negligent in the cleaning department. Last Saturday his claim was 1600 + rounds and he has not even pulled a bore snake through this beast. I watched as he spit another 200 rounds out without a FTF or a FTE. Sad but, true.

Oh lord here we go. Who'll be the first to bring up their AK. [BD]
I'm really happy tonight because I found a cool cheek rest from cheaper than dirt for my AK. Now my Kobra lines up perfectly with my cheek weld. Soooo happy. Nothing can ruin it. |

My AR hasn't been cleaned in 1000 rounds or so. Little bit of South African but mostly Lake City XM193. No problems whatsoever.
My AK74 has never given me problems! It's never been cleaned or anything and I got it back in February.... Of course it's still in kit form and hasn't been built yet! [;D] |

I dunno maybe 20,000 rounds thru my ARs never had a failure except a loose gas key once.
My ugly Maadi is reliable but has had FTE about 8 or 9 times,when the casing gets lodged in between the trigger mech and the receiver....Very annoying to clear. |

After using CLPs and only US GI 30 round magazines, I haven't had a single malfuction except a failture to fire. (firing pin did strike primer but somehow it didn't fire)
But then again, I haven't done any real test of my ARs. The most round I've put in my AR without single cleaning was 220 rounds. (in part because I like cleaning my AR) However it didn't fail me over one foot of snow and freezing weather so I think it should be okay. |
