I've printed probably 75-100 pages since my PC warned me that my printer was nearly out of toner.

It's just a budget laser printer with a scanner on top.

At this point I'll be genuinely surprised when it actually does run out.

I feel like I should have been keeping accurate track of how many pages worth of toner they wanted me to toss away last year.

Do that with your car the next time the gas gauge shows empty. Think of all the gas you are throwing away.

Surely you can come up with a better comparison than that.

Pull the cartridge and shake the shit out of it and then put it back in.

We got 1000's of more pages printed on the old Laserjet 5si doing that.

I don't usually throw my gas tank away. I just refill it.

Unlike your printer, your car's gas gauge at least attempts to be accurate.
