ASPIRANT: Dreams of owning an AR-15; give him you pity not your scorn.
CADET: Owns only one AR; totally stock OEM. JOURNEYMAN 3RD CLASS: Owns several ARs; still mostly OEM though. JOURNEYMAN 2ND CLASS: Has exprimented with several configurations; has the confidence to choose his own components, regardless of what the military uses. JOURNEYMAN 1ST CLASS: Has had custom components built for his AR; does some of his own builds. MASTER: Shoots in sanctioned matches; builds complete ARs from buttplate to muzzle. ASCENDED MASTER: Carries out so much shooting that he has the knowlege base to actively contribute to the evolution of the AR system; builds and sells ARs commercially. DEMI-GOD: Has developded/produced a new accessory/component for the AR system; We love you man! ***** And then there is the Dark Side... SITH LORD: Prefers the AK to the AR; Hiss! Boo! ***** Go ahead, rank yourself! This is on the Honor System! I just made Journeyman 1st Class! ***** Edited to expound on dogma: "custom components" can include having a barrel re-turned to a different profile. That takes a modicum of self-determinism and knowlege of the AR. So, armed with this clarification, you may re-classify yourself. |

Somewhere between JOURNEYMAN 1ST CLASS and JOURNEYMAN 2ND CLASS.
Somewhere between Journeyman 2nd Class and 1st Class.
I have no custom-built (for me) components, but I do all of my own builds, including separate uppers, lowers, barrels and trigger group parts. I like it. |

+1 |

Only have 1 but it's totally custom built by me, for me, to me.
JOURNEYMAN 1ST CLASS: Has had custom components built for his AR; does some of his own builds.
MASTER: Shoots in sanctioned matches; builds complete ARs from buttplate to muzzle. I'm somewhere between those two, however I have done QC/evaluation with suggested enhancements testing for aftermarket parts for Ar's, which kinda fits in the DEMI_GOD catagory. I also have never needed to build a complete AR from buttplate to muzzle, but I have competed in sanctioned matches. I'm not easily put into a catagory. |

Cadet/Sith Lord, but I don't own one of Mr. Kalashnikov's rifles yet.
What about us guys that live in California and only have a FAB-10 AR?
Ak owner and lover, That sith shit sounds like star wars or sumpin.

I'm around there - but does this include poor fisherman? Damn boat always seems to knock my guns overboard FISHERMAN 1ST CLASS: Use to own many guns but they are all at the botom of the damned lake. |

Sith Lord
I *SOLD* my unreliable Bushmaster XM15 my rifle of choice is the SKS / AK family |
JOURNEYMAN 1ST CLASS: Has had custom components built for his AR; does some of his own builds.
JOURNEYMAN 2ND CLASS: Has exprimented with several configurations; has the confidence to choose his own components, regardless of what the military uses
I have 8 differnt rifles in many configurations. |
Not really sure where I fit in.
I have owned ARs in various configurations. I have had to help trouble shoot ARs at a shoot or two. Currently, the only AR I own is an Armalite AR18. I guess that makes me a janitor or something eh? |
same here |

Might as well own an airsoft gun. |

Honest. I will start competing soon, but I wont make it to JM 1st class. I'll skip it. |
EWOK=Californian so all I can have are rocks and that piece of crap FAG10 that is 3 times the price of a real AR.

I have one 20" A2 model, one AKM-style carbine, six (all different) SKSs, an M1 rifle, M1 Garand, 1903, 1917, 28 Mosins, 34 Mausers, 24 other military bolt and SS guns.
You tell ME what I rate. Larry |
HERITIC ***** C'mon guys, you are making me invent too many catagories. |
Journeyman 2 and/or Journeyman 1, not sure.
Colt AR-15 / M16 Armorer Certifed Range Master for AR15 / M16 / M4 Have AR15's and issued XM16E1. |

Your rating scheme is somewhat screwed up; whats more desirable or proficient: a guy who owns ONE stock AR who can hit pretty much anything s/he aims at, or some guy with enough cash to put every bell and whistle on several ARs? Hmmmmm??? I see some of the pics some of you post here: guys with 10 or 12 ARs. I ask myself: whats the purpose? Sure, its a free country and you can do what you want with your cash, but....so many of the same basically same weapon????How many of you guys with 10 ARs have put yourself thru some advanced training at the cost of one rifle so you can hit something other than old refridgerators on some garbage strewn gravel pit wanna -be range anyways? Fear the man or woman with one AR. I would suspect that they would often rate higher than "cadet". |

well i forgot who it was but i remember someone mounted a beer holder on an AR here

ASPIRANT:
Saving up for my first. Hope to have it by Christmas. All my guns are black... well except fo the one wood one... Looking into the AR10 Armalite or Bushmaster... Haven't decided yet. Depends on price to an extent. |
Was that TRG? |
Somewhere between Journeyman 3rd class and Journeyman 1st class. Would Military(Infantry) service qualify for the rank of Master?
Finances have me stuck squarely between Cadet and Journeyman 3rd Class.
Yep. With Miller High Life. Gimbal mount on forearm. |
High master. I built all mine from parts. I shoot service rifle, my main reason for owning AR's. But I have never had a barrel less than nor greater than 20" and all my stocks are A2 full length.
I have never bumped an AR nor do I ever want to. I have bumped a 1911 and have more full auto time thanks to Uncle Sugar. |
hmmm, I built the lower on my second AR. I only own two and they're both 16inchers. But ones an A2 upper with a 16" M4 profile and the other is a flatop with an HBar so there is some variety.
I guess I'm a 3rd class I want to concentrate on shooting more and other guns now (I still dream of a stock 20" A2 type though) |
J1C, but also tempted by the Dark Side..... <cue Empire music>
JOURNEYMAN 1ST CLASS: Has had custom components built for his AR; does some of his own builds.
