[ARCHIVED THREAD] - The dentist took my tooth today!

Well, he had to take out my cracked tooth. It took about an hour. He said it was the hardest one he has done. He is an old dentist too. It was about 2 hrs ago. It doesn't hurt yet but I have some 5mg Loratab to take when it starts.
He told me to just drink some instant breakfast and take it easy.
Well, I took two nights off from work so I can at least play a couple of computer games I haven't had a chance to yet.

Any suggestions on what to get in the hole? He mentioned a few things but I don't really know what he was talking about.

I had a cracked tooth. Had to get a root canal and now a cap. How many $k is this going to cost you? Mine'll be about $2k. Thus no DSA FAL this quarter.

No, but by the end of it I wanted to.

No really, he did a good job. I felt only one little bit of pain. He did have to give me novicaine three times though. I think I'm resistant. I normally can take quite a bit of pain, but not in my mouth. It was the big molar, I think the third. I have a BIG UGLY hole now.

I don't know. I have pretty good insurance but I'll have to pay something.

I'm a pain weenie at the dentist too and I break out in a sweat. I can take all kinds of other pain but not in my teeth. I got a bunch of work done just before my divorce and loss of the wifes d plan. Four weeks of hell.

I have my final root canal scheduled for Friday... have had two so far this year. Has cost me a grand total of $25... gotta love ANNUAL deductibles! He is hoping he can do a root canal and not extract, hate the thought of losing one of the teefs.

One suggestion:
Take the pain medication BEFORE it starts to hurt. That way you can stay "on top" of the pain. You'll thank me later.
