Canadians for the most part are cool, same for the US. Canada is the number 2 or 3 exporter of oil for the US (thank you) Hell were all in this together. I think allot of the recent indifference between to US and Canada are for the most part due to the poll and there leader expressing it our fault that 911 happen.

I would bet they polled a VERY liberal area and doesn't reflect the majority support Canadians feel for the US.

Fuck I am sick of hearing this.... The canadian Militia? C7A1 with Elcan, and not enough ammo to train with, all military spending so low many bases have 40 year old equipment, or older. Did anybody see the Bill O'reilly's show last night. They were talking about Canada's military. The guest said Canada only has a total of 55,000  troops. He said they pulled out of afghanistan because they didn't have enough troops for rotation. Thats just plain sad. Its probably because they don't want to serve under their socialist leader and and gun grabber gov't[:\]

Its true that Canada's military is at least half the size it should be. I really hope the federal Liberals get the same thing that happened to the Progressive Conservatives a few years ago.

Canada, while probably populated by at least a few very nice people, could actually have been regarded as an American enemy on numerous fronts. Some of this is prob Trudeau-style euro-leftism that, I hope, may be fading a bit.

At least during the Vietnam conflict, Canada aided, abetted and sheltered draft-dodging American draftees, thus in at least some small measure reducing our readiness, etc.

Canada also sold significant amounts of grain and other supplies (medical, etc.) to North Viet Nam. (Interestingly, the grain US sold to USSR stayed in USSR - they had their own problems and let NVN struggle on their own.) I'm certain American soldiers died because some NVA/VC got at least some medical help using Canadian medical supplies and returned to the field and fought again; those taking care of the NVA were somehow directly or indirectly fed by Canadian grain.

As I understand it, Pres. Nixon wasn't really too worried about 'accidentally' hitting Canadian shipping in Haiphong Harbor during the Haiphong bombing campaign - thought it'd teach 'em a lesson about consorting with the enemy. He was more worried about hitting USSR ships (escalation) esp as seeds of US/USSR detente (despite Vietnam conflict) were budding.
