I nosed around the website for the movie today. Watched the extended trailer and a few other things. WASPy kid from a good family goes to Yale, clean cut, idealist, patriotic, becomes a member of secretive Skull and Bones, goes to the right cocktail parties and gets a job in the OSS. Then gets tapped to help start up the CIA. After much CIAing, begins to get jaded, his idealism is breaking down as he sees the reality of what the CIA does (probably like how we have to pay one dictator-thug because they are our thugs and not Russia's thugs). Secrecey of his job and stuff ruins his marriage with Angelia Jolie (damn that would suck). Not sure what else happens. I plan to go see it though and I don't go see many movies. |
| I thought it was a biography of James Jesus Angleton at first, but the character appears fictional, according to the IMDB entry. But the inspiration's obvious to anyone who knows who Angleton was. |
