..expiration is comming up to its one year mark.

Did you make use of it by buying everything and anything?

Or did it leave you feeling "I have plenty of time now to get the fun stuff." ?

Unfortunatly at the time I was only working 2 days a week (goddamn school) and couldn't afford anything right then.  Had to wait until the day before Easter for my Oly Arms.

Everyone I know is bitching about it and mad that it sunsetted........just kidding!

I haven't heard a word about it from anyone I know or have met.

Just waiting for the streets to run with blood now that the deadliest of weapons are available to the likes of you and me.

Or so the media claimed.

I picked up 2 more AR's. Mags for AR's and 10/22

Then the damn AR's were washed away by the hurrican last week

It's been a tight-budget year, but I managed to get a Glock 19 with real mags, and some 25 round Butler Creek mags for my 10/22.

Converted my no-ban Rock River to something more eviler, and bought a butt load of reg cap mags for it. Then I discovered Armalite was selling M14 mags cheap.

Assault Weapons Ban? There was one?

So you bought an M-14?

If it wasn't for the sunset, I probably wouldn't have an AR...

Oh boy! I'm glad it ended! I had just too much damn money!

Few NIW Glock mags and such, but mostly a renewed interest in stuff
I couldn't afford for 10 years!!

You have no idea how many folks i would see at the range with post ban receivers and preban uppers.

They didn't seem to know anything about the rifle or its configuration so i am led to beleive they were just uninformed and didn't hang out at ar15.com.

I think alot of people went ten years without knowing there was a ban.

It's actually embarrassing how much I have spent on guns & mags since the ban expired.  Life doesn't give you many second chances.

I have brought 5 AR's into this world, 3 MEGA/Bushmaster and 2 SNS/Colt's...

Im thinking of adopting a Romi WASR in the next month or so...

California is keeping me from doing what I really want - get an early issue AR15.  I had one when I was 18, and I didn't realize the value of it when I sold it.

A couple of AR's, a couple extra barrels, a few telestocks, 30 or so 30 round AR mags and a whole bunch of high capacity handgun mags.

Not great, but I did ok.

I got a feeling of plenty of time left... Depending on what happens in 2008, we'll see!

Plus, the AWB didn't REALLY do anything other then make the "scary looking" features go away... The guns from the ban era could shoot and kill just as easy as these current firearms? The MAIN thing of the AWB that made me sad was the high capacity ban.

Funny thing though, I was able to source 30 round magazines pretty damn easy when the ban was still in place.

+1

Did my part for the industry (and my fun threshold) and bought an XD40 and an 870.  Hopefully I'll be able to buy something next year.  Probably an SKS, but if I can swing it I want a CaliFal.

Been a financially tough year for me... Just squeezing by while getting ready to go back to school.  I hate to say it but other than mags and a phantom FS, I didn't really buy too much.

BUT I HAVE A $7K BLANK CREDIT CARD READY IF THEY TRY TO PASS SOMETHING AGAIN!

may take a few years to pay it off in school, but would go on a massive spending sprey if another bill was going up for a vote

Since the ban ended I have built more AKs than I care to mention and went from owning ZERO ARs to now owning a 16", 20" and a 24".  I am not sure I can afford to buy anything new to celebrate.  I have been celebrating for the past 12 months.

I guess I am gonna put a candel one a cupcake for my little M4gery which was born(built) the day the ban expired. It has gone thru a few changes but still remains pretty much the same rifle in almost the same configuration it was in when built. I guess I will try to make it out to the range and do some shooting to celebrate. Thanks Arvin

I bought a DPMS M4 no ban barrel, and attached my one and only flash suppressor to it.  Unfortunately, that's about all I can afford to do at the moment.

In the last year I have purchased:
WASR-10 hicap
CETME and 10 mags
DSA FAL and 10 mags
Bushmaster/RRA 20"
Stag 16"
20 ar mags
Deawoo A1K1
VEPR-K, not that is was banned anyways.

Ya, I have done my part I am pretty broke now.

Need to get:
More Ak mags
ruger 10/22 and some high cap mags
Also might get a glock and some high cap mags

i think my gun and gun-related spending over the last year is probably doing a significant part at keeping the US economy in relatively good shape.

not that that's really changed since before though.

let's get that '86 MG ban gone. then i'll do some SERIOUS spending. M249 here i come!

How deep was it, and can you provide me with the coordinates of where your AR-15 went down?

Kidding aside, that must have been one of the most miserable moments in your life.

I was supposed to get one of the legal to own Colt 6721 Carbines back in 1994 from my dealer-nephew/cop, but he screwed me out of it and sold it to somebody else for big bucks. The bastard only came through for me with three 6520's for $715 each .   (there were only 134 Colt 6721's available before the serial numbers went into post-ban mode.) There's a guy selling one of these 6721's now on the EE for $3,000 -$4.000

SO THIS TIME I MADE SURE THERE WAS A 6721 AND A 6920 WAITING FOR ME BEFORE THE BAN EVEN EXPIRED. I did ok at  $815 and $950

BUY SOON! IT'S A DEMOCRAT PRESIDENT AND A NEW WORSE BAN FOR 2008 !!!!

Nothing to any of my own rigs. Since none of my ARs or FALs are AW's, they weren't regulated by the AWB's anyways, and were built with all the "evil" feature's.
I have "de-banned" a FAL and two ARs for other guys who had registered AW's, though.

I have gone apeshit!

From M14s to HK clones
From a M11s to M4 clones

No including the thousands I have spent on mags and access. Hell I have mags for guns I dont even own! I have mags for guns that are not even available to the public yet!

Lets not count the stripped lowers hiding in the depths of one of my safes

Lots of Hartford 30 rounders, FSB w/ bayo lug, several coll. stocks.  I bought my EBR's and their evil accessories for many reasons (self defense, plinking, etc), but I'm also one of the few who believe that the ability to buy these rifles, mags, etc will soon be taken away from us.

The media makes a point to term high-cap semi auto rifles used in illegal ways as "assault rifles".  It seems I've heard Ar15, Ak47, SKS, etc mentioned more often in the news...and not in an approving way.

I lost my guns in a boating accident too.
We all did - except our trusty .22 and a .38

I had always been into guns.
When the AWB expired, I remembered "HEY!!! I'm over 18 now, I can buy guns and ammo and shit!"
So I did.
