While reading the thread about the Kansas-Nebraska Act http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=1018303 ... wouldn't the 13th Amendment be grounds to dismiss HC? Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation. What (I think) is happening here is that the tax paying class is being coerced into slavery to benefit another class through taxation. Maybe I'm making a hell of a stretch here but It sure seems to make sense to me.  What say the hive? |
