Actually, i had met her at work and we were going to a hole-in-the-wall restaurant for lunch. she had never been there and I didn't know the address, just where it was. Quoted: This. A 4 door midsized sedan. In the 90s, a GM product. After the 2000s, probably Japanese. Stock, clean but not sparkling, tires neither the black of newness nor obviously bald,no identifiable damage or stickers. Either the slightly faded "Champagne" color variously described as beige, tan, light brown, and even silver in certain light, or a medium gray. I took dozens of reports trying to describe these vehicles used in crimes, or heard BOLOs vaguely describing the car. The description basically only eliminated certain things: it's not a truck or van, it's not bright red or black... Both my wife and I have walked up to the wrong car in parking lots more than once. One time I was freaking out over a scratched up wheel before it registered I wasn't looking at my car. It's literally the ultimate gray vehicle... maybe less so in pickup truck country. I have a very bright green and yellow license plate which takes away from the gray man thing a bit, but helps us see it. |

Completely depends on your area. A farm pickup with some mud on it blends in where I live. A shiny mini van driving down my road means they are city people that are not surrounded by their people.

I'm guessing a 5 year-old silver Camry would be the ultimate?

Toyota Camry if you really want to be a gray man
Down here trucks are targeted for break-ins because perps think they're more likely to have a gun in them. |

White XL trim F-150 with no Cap or any other identifying features that would set it apart. Not that people would notice your truck is a Lariat OP but it does set it apart a little.
|
|
Grey or white f150, Lariat (non-chrome) and down, or a white Chevy pick up.
We had a guy do a hit and run on a drunk pedestrian, totally the pedestrian's fault, but the drive bailed. In a crowed area, with video cameras, they have never caught them. White Tundra, no lift, stock wheels, no stickers, just tinted windows, no good shot of the plate. |

The F150 is also the preferred lesbians truck.
It really does blend in well too. I’ll never own another Ford though. |

When the feds hit the Grim Reapers next door at our old location they had a bunch of F250 with a cover on the bed like that
They parked some across the road It looked like they were using it as a sniper hide |

I'll throw in a vote for a white/grey ford fusion, or a black chevy equinox.

In my world.
Black, white, or silver: Toyota Highlander or Acura MDX/RDX will allow you to blend in anywhere at anytime. Basically, any white, black or silver semi-upscale SUV will do. Add a stick figure family sticker in the window and an empty Panera cup in the cup holder and you are invisible. |

I submit this for suburban life. No one notice a clean white work van

I drove a silver Honda Accord as a commuter for 7 years or so. I couldn't find that mfer in a parking lot to save my life.

I live in a county full of oil & agriculture. Pickup trucks dominate.
I drive a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 4dr 4x4. Stick out, never. You can’t toss a dead cat in any direction without hitting another pickup truck. |

I’ve always thought a beat up work truck packed with big out gear and a fake plumbing company logo on the side would be the ultimate get-out-of-town vehicle. I don't believe a giant truck is a gray man vehicle. Nor is a POS vehicle.

The aftermarket wheels w/leveling kit, and what looks to be a dog carrier in the back would absolutely set that apart. looks good, but it would be something that set's it apart. |

In this part of the country I think the older two-tone Subaru Outback would win hands down. Good coat of road grime in the winter, and you're one of about a half million identical vehicles. The same guy in CDA owns the Toyota and Subaru dealership...he must be a billionaire.
Anyone in a 4x4 pickup is armed. Anyone in a neon Rubicon is a wealthy divorcee. Anyone in a Tesla or a Range Rover is out-of-state, no matter what their license plate says. 4Runner and Tacoma drivers are the salt of the Earth, and also armed. I hate people who stereotype. |

Around here, the rural midwest, you will pass at least a dozen dark gray minivans a day -mostly Dodge/Chrysler.

When the SHTF all the hot lesbians will flock to my Subaru for shelter and reeducation.
