This has prolly been covered before, but since I wasn't there/paying attention:  Can this computer camo stuff the USMC is now using be bought yet?  It looks very effective for whitetail hunting (a passion of mine) and turkey.

Can it be bought in yards?  Clothing?  Any links?  Thanks for any help!

"It can be obtained at your local recruiter for free"

Hey CavVet, how's that P-99 working out for you?

nope you arent being a smartass CavVet.

be the first in your block to own a pair, stubbs. sign up for 4 !

the US Marines have a patent on the camo design so dont expect it to be in the market anytime soon. unless the Marines are selling it themselves.

no you can't get it at cloth world.
try e-bay.

or get some of your old camo and spray paint it with some cans that have their nozzles about half plugged up.

it looks a lot like German WWII "dot camo"

Almost... I've seen a total of TWO Marines wearing the new uniform. My squadron regularly flies into Cherry Pt, Oki, Quantico, Pendleton/Miramar, and many other points North, East, South or West. Not one of our aircrew has been able to find any part of them, in any of the cash sales (uniform shops). The uniform shop website says that the new cammies will be available for ordering (by authorized users) in October '02.

Canadian gun laws must be worse than I thought when the military starts putting locks on their firearms.

Uh oh!  Last time this topic was brought up a bunch of jarheads got their panties in a ruffle over the thought of civvies wearing their new getup.[;)]

You have been warned.

This place sells a reproduction. It's a very good copy, but expensive.

Saw it earlier. Good show. I liked how the Indians covered themselves in wolf skins while hunting Buffalo. Apparantly, Buffalo didn't give any regard to wolves.

Yeah, from what I hear the Marines patented MARPAT,  even though the government, being public, isn't supposed to be able to do that. But who's gonna stop 'em, right?

Canada has a ripoff called CANPAT, and from what I hear is either available or is still in development, I can't remember which.

Either that, or the "Made in Taiwan" cheap copies is what people will be able to get, I suppose.

Oops, Graffiti already mentioned CANPAT...

Oops!

----------

That History Channel documentary on camo is what gave me the idea to ask where to buy MARPAT.

I saw that History Channel show on Camoflage last night.  Very interesting.  The new camoflage patterns look very cool... I liked the bits about the Marine and Army snipers and the ghillie suits.  I WISH I could be a sniper like that...  :)

i dont know why anyone would pay good money for it. its hard to beat comercial camo for hunting unless you just want them to think of yourself as a cool guy "look at me i got the new Marine camo before you, im almost a Marine". screw that. im holding out till 2004. im not getting that stuff till they MAKE me.

The pattern is genuine MARPAT, but it isn't made to mil-specs. I bought the trousers that seem decent, but I'm told the blouse is a POS.
It is a neat, effective pattern.
