Ok forgive me, I'm somewhat green to the technology at my hands.

If I understand FAQ #10 here correctly, the text messages I've sent recently to a 7 digit # were never recieved. And would ~~probably~~ hopefully explain why she doesn't contact me back.

My phone has never indicated that a text message wasn't sent succesfully. wtf?

Text messages need to be sent to a 10 digit mobile number.

Shorter strings of numbers are used for other purposes. You text message may well have gone to a legitimate destination, just not the one you intended.

ive had messages go through with just the 7 digits. I was local and they were local numbers.....
thats my experience

dude .. you NEVER give up before the cops are called..

and even then you call call her from jail to see if she will bail you out, since if she haad simply gone out with you ... you would not of had to stalk her..

so its partly her fault ..

Shorter strings of numbers are used for internet portals and various other kinds of services. I'm sure you've seen the "text your vote to WESPAMU for a free ringtone" type advertisements.

yes, I suppose I have. So it's a pretty safe bet that messages I've sent to 7 digit addresses were never received?

Correct, for most wireless systems.

Nowhere.

The SMS system needs the whole 10 digit number.

It's a 'best practice' to program numbers into your mobile phone using the 10 digit number since it works with SMS, and will dial the correct number if you enter a different area code.

Anyone I'm calling is going to be in Maine (all 207 area code). Should I go through my contacts list on the phone and add a 207 before all the tel#'s to avoid lost texts in the future?
I probably should right?
