[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Texas Tech!!!! (Page 1 of 2)

Temp 68, Clear no wind, Field is in perfect shape. Another team that feels like they "deserved" a better bowl gets their ass beat soundly.
Ole Miss by damn! Good job Rebels! Wins over two top ten teams and last years national champions in the same season. SEC! SEC! SEC! |
| I'll bite..we got beat handily, enough said. No excuses, we looked flat as west tx. A big part due to ole miss, but they didn't show us anything we haven't seen. we just didnt show up to play (i.e: tech vs cal in the holiday bowl in 2004). Good game miss. Hope to see you again! Flame on |
| i disagree, ou's dline were in our face every play. We were just plain outcoached. If you watch every play you will see, harrell had plenty of time throughout the game. we didnt pick up on the blitz packages like we usually do. Not taking away any credit, miss played a great game. Just sucks when you know our potential is much greater. |

I think the champ game will probably go about the same way. OU will get their 4 or 5 TDs but will be completely unable to stop FL from scoring. Urban Meyer teams usually show up strong in big games. Can't really say the same for Bob Stoops teams. But if you're so confident I'd be willing to make it interesting. |

But I don't think Florida has as many good receivers as OU has, and in those positions those receivers are also big play makers, not just great at catching. And all the SEC fanboys, what about the Pac-10 being the only unbeaten conference so far this year in bowl games? |
|
The big 12 is a tough conference, but tech was no where near being a top ranked team this year. They had a good run of luck for awhile, but just didn't have the team to be ranked with the big boys, such as OU, Florida, Bama, etc..
All i can say is OU better not blow this bowl game like they have for the past few years. BOOMER SOONER |

I'm pretty sure Texas or OU would be a HELL of alot tougher to beat than OSU was. Florida did great against medium tier teams, and only beat a top tier team by 10. We'll see though. |

Unranked LSU beat the shit out of #14 GT and Ole Miss beat #7 ranked TT. AL will win tonight and then when FL wins that will be 6-1. Not too bad. |

You must not remeber OSU 2 years ago. They had at least 4 NFL players on their offense (maybe more, I can't remeber if they had any o-lineman get drafted)and were thought to be unstoppable on offense. They were also undefeated after beating #2 MI in their final game. Fl was a BIG underdog. FL is favored to win this year. So I don't know if OU is a helluva lot tougher opponent. |

And all the SEC fanboys, what about the Pac-10 being the only unbeaten conference so far this year in bowl games?[/quote] Stay with me here this will require a little review of recent history and looking at some obscure minor bowl games. Oregon beat Oklahoma State 42-31 in the Holiday Bowl at San Diego; Oregon State shut out Pittsburgh 3-0 in the Sun Bowl at El Paso, Texas; California bested Miami 24-17 in the Emerald Bowl at San Francisco, Arizona was a 31-21 winner over BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl. PAC-10 homers...I'll give you the Oregon game OkySt is a good team. Pitt (they just stink), the U and BYU....color me unimpressed. One prime reason the PAC-10 teams have a good bowl record is they had so few teams going to bowls and those bowls were low tier bowls save only the Rose Bowl. USC is a great program but Penn State was no match up for a top tier team. When the rest of your bowls are on ESPN 2 on Christmas Eve and such you need to take a look around and check were your league really ranks. SEC! SEC! SEC! P.S. So far Alabama has not showed up to the Superdome tonight. |

| As an Aggie I have to say I have absolutely no problem with a Big XII team losing if it is Tech or tu. The Texas vs. Tech game was possibly the biggest moral dilemma I face all year, I couldnt decide who I wanted to lose more. It was right up there with having to vote for McCain just to stop Obama... |

And BTW that really was a sarcastic remark, things like that get lost in posts on the internet. Ole Miss won fair and square, the main thing i saw was they dominated the line of scrimmage. The team that showed up today was the team that showed up against OU, not the team that showed up against UT or OK State. they started to get behind and then tried to make too many things happen to fast. Tech is a better team than that. Not to detract anything from Ole Miss, they played well. |
