| What was your favorite gun used by a Terminator? Most people will say the general electric mini gun. But I liked the lever action 12 guage but I also liked the M79 thumper in terminator 2. |
|
its not a 12 gauge, its a 10 gauge. it was made by winchester long ago. fired 2 1/2 inch and 2 3/4 shells I liked the CAR-15 che shot the other one in the face with off the hood of that semi at the end of T2 |
Winchester 1887 they were offered in both gauges |
They don't exactly have a 'safety' per se, and it HAS been known to discharge at inopportune moments - one man already shot himself (critically injured) when crossing a fence with that same shotgun model in a sling over his shoulder. Don't trust it with a loaded chamber. Otherwise, it's a VERY fun/cool shotty though! ETA: I'd vote for the UZI or the AR-18 |
Winchester 1885. Also seen in The Mummy. And it was a 10 guage. I think in 1901, Winchester made a 12 guage version for a few years. The introduction of reliable pump-action shotguns made them obsolete. Norinco started making reproductions a few years ago. I'd kind of like to have one. eta: nm, someone already answered with better info. shows what I know!

I believe it's Winchester 1887, not 1885. Norinco has a copy. |
yeah I know, but that one was a 10. I saw a documentary about it on one of the outdoors channels a few months ago. the one he had in the movie was a 10. |
|
I thought the Acog Was invent in the 80's |
Was that a 1919? FOr some reason I thought it was some type of modified M2- I knew I wasn't right but thought the gun was more modern than a 1919. As far as my favorite, I still like the .45 longslide as well. Everybody seems to hate AMTs(looks like that's what that one is) but I never had a bit of trouble with the one I had. |
I have one of those. 1887 clone |
Mine's a 12g. |
The gentleman in question, a user here, snagged the trigger IIRC. Since the gun has only a half cock as a safety carrying with one in the chamber isn't a great idea. |

I liked the M79 nade launcher, don't get to see those used to good effect in many movies. If I was going terminator hunting I can't think of much that would work better (and still be man portable...). Well maybe the more modern and compact HK69 40mm launcher... One other that always jumped out to me was the two-tone 1911 Arnold took off the biker at the beginning of T2. It's pretty plain but it is used all through the movie, my favorite scenes were with Sarah using it during the hospital escape. |
came out in 89 iirc |
I just watched it on saturday and it looked like an ACOG to me. I didn't know they were around back then either. |
