You can get a cheap stamped spanner for the telestock for five bucks. I got one at a show.

Go to harbor Freight tools, they have a gizmo called a 2X4 hanger hook. You hook it to an over head 2X4 and then hang stuff from it. Funny thing is it has the correct fit and curve of a telestock spanner wrench with the protruding point in the right place to grab and turn the locking ring on a telestock . Cost is $1.99 and works perfect, when your done hang something from it in the garage. I used it twice already.
