Obama got played.
http://news.yahoo.com/assad-syria-fulfil-chemical-weapons-initiative-u-ends-155433528.html MOSCOW (Reuters) - Syria will fulfil an initiative to hand over its chemical weapons only when the United States stops threatening to strike Syria, RIA news agency quoted President Bashar al-Assad as saying in a television interview.
Assad also said that Damascus will begin handing over information on its chemical weapons stockpiles one month after it joins a anti-chemical weapons convention. "When we see the United States really wants stability in our region and stops threatening, striving to attack, and also ceases arms deliveries to terrorists, then we will believe that the necessary processes can be finalized," he was quoted as saying in an interview with Russian state television. When are we going to see O'Dumbo grab his ball and go home pouting?

It's almost like Assad and Putin are sitting around saying "My turn to F(*& him in the A(%!", "No, no it's MY turn to f^&s him in the a(%!".
|
|
And now, Obama can justify going in and taking them by force. woohoo.

I take great satisfaction in seeing obummer and kerry squirm.
Sad but enjoyable none the less. |

Alright, I'm tired of playing games with these guys. Fucking start bombing.

Assad said that should go along with more peaceful gestures (arming people isn't peaceful). If Obama acts, he looks even more like a warmonger than before. And they know the idea of a war isn't popular here. |

we aren't. there are two different groups of rebels in geographically different areas. its actually fairly easy to tell them apart. doesn't mean some aren't getting transferred, but, as with all type groups, they hate each other, too. |
|
Well if the Wookie doesn't already have his balls in her purse then sure as fuck Putin has them on his desk for paper-weights.

Obongo and Lurch are doing it to themselves at this point. They lost the moment Lurch came down with oral diarrhea and proposed a diplomatic solution that didn't include ousting Assad. Apparently the things said in foreign relations actually matter as opposed to the things said to sycophantic domestic media partners.

We shouldn't be arming nor training AQ. We need to be not training or arming any of them. Bring our people home. |

This is a brilliant maneuver by Syria/Russia.
Obama emphatically stated that the proposed strikes were NOT for regime change and that they were only to prevent CWs from being used. The problem is that arming the rebels contradicts that; it indicates that regime change is exactly what Obama wants. He got caught in a completely retarded contradiction and is now being burned by it. He has to admit that he was lying or give up on his real goal, neither of which he'll like. |

Did anyone think the initial offer to hand over chemical weapons to the international community was sincere? It was obviously a ploy for time to maneuver. I read that Assad said he'll hand over his cw's when Israel hands over their nukes.

Al-Qaeda and other radical groups are in the Northern region. While the secular/moderate types are in the central and southern region. IIRC. |
