Chrome or SS blade? I'd guess so as it didn't rust out before the hilt did. Nice wallhanger. I expect a real Mongol to ask for it back.

My, I never would have guessed! What kind? Guess I should have asked for more info like are there any markings on the blade? What was the handle made out of? What kind of sword is it? You know, that kind of thing. I'm not asking you specifically. Anyone who might know what kind of sword it is. |

While I cannot make it out well enough from the pictures, it appears to be of Chinese design. I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but it appears to be some type of broad sword. I'm thinking either a darn do or something similar. But that's just my uneducated guess.
