I have seen a few things on the internet that tell me the G3 design doesn't like to run suppressed.

I have a PTR91 and I have an AAC SDN6.  I'd like to get an appropriate muzzle attachment and suppress it.  What more do I need?

Has anyone thrown a suppressor on their G3 clone?  Experiences?

In before the welds on the buttstock break..

too much bolt velocity with the stock locking block..

You will need to swap to a 17 locking block and retime with new rollers.

Ok ill explain it, the suppressor adds to the length of the barrel. the system is timed to open at the stock length. when you add another 10+ inches to the barrel it wont have time to bleed off the excess pressure. so when the bolt opens its over gassed/more pressure than stock. which will batter the back of the stock breaking the tack welds on the cap.

So to make it work right you need a more sloped Locking Block the #17 is slower and compensates for the excess pressure. I run mine this way. Works great and dosnt fling the brass 100 yards down range.

What site sells the #17 that I need?

I don't own any other 308 rifles, so I ought put a little cash to convert this one to suppressed as minimal investment.

That's all?

Learn something new everyday. I have a Hk91, what's the factory original locking piece in terms of # and degree? Would a regular semi unsupressed 91 benefit from the #17 locking piece in any way?

Dunno.

I've got a CETME.

The WEEK after I bought my CETME, I found a nice HK91 at a gun show for $750.

FUCK.

It's a locking piece, not a bolt....

Remember, after changing out the locking block the bolt gap MIGHT be different. So please double check it..

yes you can fire it that way unsuppressed, its much softer in recoil and doesn't batter the cases to shit. And yes it should work in the cetme as well..
