From CEO Jonathan Schwartz's Blog:
Jonathan's Blog ********************************************************************* Change Has Come to America On behalf of Sun Microsystems, I would like to offer my sincerest congratulations to President elect Barack Obama. What an extraordinary accomplishment. I would also like to extend my congratulations to his web team for having chosen MySQL as the platform behind their election web site, BarackObama.com. Lest many of you get your hopes up, we cannot guarantee the White House to all MySQL users. ********************************************************************* Use this information as you will when considering purchasing from Sun Microsystems. If his blog entry disappears I have a screenshot of it if someone would like to host it as I obviously cannot. I am a Sun Microsystems employee (yes, I really am) and while I disapprove of the content I DO approve of posting Jonathan's message here. |

And that's the cool thing about America.
If you feel strongly enough about the difference in opinion between you and your employer, you're free to find employment elsewhere. Seems to me like you're overreacting a tad though. They don't even say they supported him. They said "extraordinary accomplishment", which is true regardless of what angle you're looking at this from. Looks more like a sales pitch for MySQL than anything else. |

For the love of Obama, people, settle down with the witch hunt!
I was congratulatory, and NOT saying they supported his campaign and his candidacy. Much different things, don't crucify a company yet. I would like to congratulate Lord Obama for his win as well, I just hope he is very unsuccessful at getting his stated ideas to actually come about...

He'd be glad to know we are migrating all of our Solaris servers to RHEL, he can wash that down with a nice cup of shut the fuck up. |

remember they are the originators of Java, which we're all using right now. remember, FORD is the originator of mass producing Automobiloes, which we are all using now... and they are headed ntowards the shitter. Sun are a greatly reduced holder of market share. |
