I have a question that I hope can be answered. I am a regular member and was limited to 250 subscriptions on the forum. Today I am limited to 5. Has something changed with the forum or just my account?

The 250 max should have been set to 25. With the focus on improvements to performance, I happened to run across that limit and ended up lowering the max for everyone. 250/person means a lot of extra emails generated and sent by the site which creates needless overhead and bandwidth consumption.

A new tool was added tonight to help make using the site a bit easier for guest and team members. Hopefully it helps.

Will the 5 subscription limit change to 25 or was my limit incorrectly set?

Site wide. Gonna be monitoring outbound emails and subscription usage and see where we are at before settling on a final count.

i don't have a subscription button to click anymore, this is important to following up on my EE threads

IMHO, subscription is much more useful than a tag.  It's a lot easier for me to have 4-10 emails waiting on me so I can quickly see what threads of interest have been updated.

If 250 is too much of a number, perhaps something more reasonable could be offered?  Or a number based on membership level?

I looked today.  I had about 200 subscriptions, but only had email being generated for about 10 of them.  As usual, it's a very short time spam that these topics are active (unless someone steals your garbage can, I guess) and will stop sending emails after a few weeks time.

GB... another more thoughts?

Look in your Profile at the top for subscriptions.

yah, found those... but didn't it used to be a pic in the menu bar?  the links in the profile aren't clickable... so you can't jump to them.

I'll kick up the subscription limit for team members in a minute. I understand about the emails dying down as topics get older.

Still unable to click-a-link to go to my subsriptions. I reduced my number to 10 out of 25. However thats all the system is allowing, still unable to view the threads.

I subscribed to a couple of threads in the equipment exchange forum, but can't get to them now.  The subscription link is not there anymore.  I can't click on the subscriptions in my profile either.  Can't seem to find the threads again either.  Will this be fixed soon, or is this a permanent thing?

It wont change until the system is rebuilt. Subscriptions were never meant to track threads for  discussion, only handle email alerts. (Thread link will be in the email alert you receive on a new post.) I will probably look at the changes to things this week and possibly work on getting it rebuilt quickly.

don't know who's engine you're using... but other sites use the setup where you have subscriptions, you can subscribe with email alerts, wtihout alerts, etc.  maybe that could be set up....

I noticed this today as well & it surprises me that this would be a issue, almost all of the forums I use allow notifications of replies to topics with no limit to number or time. Hell I would never be able to keep track of what I sad and where if I didn't get a E-Mail letting me know someone responded.
