I just wanted to say that. Brad was an amazing musician. Any body agree or disagree?

Damn shame,
There was a uniqueness in their music that few people have. |
They were a fun band. I don't think they where all that great but alot of fun.
IIRC they broke into a studio to record their first album. I saw them at a house party way back when. |
Listen to some of the acoustic stuff. |
I really like them, and 40oz to Freedom is one of my favorite albums.
By far my favorite band. My screen name on some other sites like Eghey is SublimeFan1978.
Second Hand Smoke is possibly the best album ever made. Brad was an exceptionally gifted musician. MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SONG |
In the winter, their songs remind me of summers on the beach.
Always good to hear in the bar slope side after a good day skiing and enjoying a local brew.

If you guys haven't seen Stories Tales Lies and Exaggerations, you need to get on it.
Biography with rare footage of the band playing when they were 16, house parties and such. Awesome DVD for any Sublime fans out there. |
We have an "alternative" rock station here that's been playing one of the same five Sublime songs at least once an hour for the last decade or so. Overrated, and over-played. But then, I really don't like reggae or sca of any kind. |
you're overrated. |

I won't be baited into a battle of wits with someone that's unarmed. Careful, your comment about me could be interpreted as a personal attack. that's a COC violation Quote 6.) Attacking or insulting a person in an effort to elicit a negative response. You have a right to disagree, but please do so in a respectful manner. ZM |

*cough* COCK!!! *cough* who's insulting anyone? |
You cant possibly be fucking serious. |
I think he's joking guys.... |
Now you're definitely overrated, or at least entirely humorless. |
I think if sublime doesnt speak to you thn you have no soul. I feel like I know brad when i listen to the music. Im talking about 40oz and earlier, the last album was awesome too but the older stuff and the acoustic stuff is just incredible.
one of my favorite bands. Brad was talented for sure, and had a great voice i thought.
let me guess you like trivium and killswich engage, and you tell your freinds "new metallica sucks" I like the old stuff. otep and opeth., all that remains and that fake as heartless wannabe metal. I just get that impression. |
I haven't listened to a lot of their stuff, but their shirts and gear are fucking awesome, the art is just mesmerizing.
Its a little beach hippy for me but it is pretty cool. |
Agreed. Some of their stuff is 'ok', but when people get off on the " ... Bradley Nowell was a GENIUS ... " tangent (which I've heard on more than one occassion) ... well, Nah. |
Never said he was a genious i just really dig the music. He took punk blues reggae hip hop ska punk and rock and roll and made an awesmoe sound. just plane fun music and music I can relate to. |
I guess most of the US and world has no soul then. But hey, if we are going over-generalize people based on their music tastes I'll point out that every Sublime fan I have ever met was a wake and bake slacker. |
Wasn't implying that you were one of the ones I've heard that from; just saying that I have heard that "commentary" mulitple times ... Regardless, you clearly like their stuff a lot ... so to that I'll just say ~ "... it's all good ..." |
I dont know who trivium is and I dont like Killswitch either. I just dont like any of the "feel good hippy bands". I also dont like metal, rap, or country. I am so picky about music I hardly listen to any. My radio is usually tuned to talkradio. I have some respect for Sublime. My favorite Sublime song was actually a Desecendants cover called Hope. Good song. Sublime - Hope I never said I hated Sublime. I just think they are bit overrated. |

Light me up that cigarette and strap shoes on my feet............
I liked them in the beginning, unfortunately all of the trust-fund frat-boys-turned-jam-band homos ruined it for me.
I don't think they were amazing, musically... but they had moxie... |
Thanks for thinking I am that young. I was around when the "old" Metallica actually was released. Hell, I was around when Black Sabbath was releasing albums. I have some very eclectic musical tastes. From metal to classical to some real country. Sublime is ok, but so are hundreds of other bands. |

My two fav sublime songs are "rivers of babylon" and "badfish".
I think these songs capture the true sound of sublime. |
