Here is some inside on the AUG. A Malaysian licensee has a contract with Steyr making them the sole manufacturer of the AUG A3 for Steyr. They are embroiled in a bitter lawsuit in Malaysia and the factory sits idol. Steyr shafted the Malay's. By the terms of their own contract, Steyr is not supposed to build A3's unless they settle up with the Maylay's.
The Maylay's have not filed anything in the US as Steyr have not started building them here yet.
Steyr has a state department import ban imposed on them. They cannot import ANYTHING to the US because they sold 8000 .50 cal rifles to Iran most of which probably made it or will make it to a certain neighboring country for use against American troops.
So, when Steyr shrugs their shoulders, it means they have to make the entire rifle in the US and get through the Malaysian legal problems.
So when the Gov and Anti gun groups Bitch about 50cals in terrorist hands tell them to Bitch to the people who sell them not to America and American gun Co's
