How can Chuck Schumer get away with flat out lying in Senate claiming the Street Sweeper will be available after the AWB expires. It's not like he got confused and said something he shouldn't, he had a prepared a large image of it to be displayed while he spoke.

The Street Sweeper was classified as a destructive device and isn't subject to the AWB. I thought the Senate has all these rules to make sure they are the slower, calmer, and more respectable side of Congress. It seems like there should be some way to get Schumer in trouble for intenionally providing false information. I'll be writting my Senators about this to see if they say anything. Anyone else that wants to have fun trying to get Chucky into trouble should do the same. I'll also email Senators Frist and Craig.

These three high-capacity 12-gauge shotguns were classified by ATF in 1994 as "destructive devices" under the National Firearms Act (NFA), 26 U.S.C. Chapter 53. The classification was made because the weapons have bores of greater than one-half inch in diameter and are not generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting purposes.
