I recently read another thread (which I can't find now) where someone was asking about storing their guns in a padded case. The consensus was that the padding traps moisture and can cause your guns to rust. So, now I'm thinking about these silicone treated gun socks. Will these things protect your gun if it's stored in a padded case? I've run out of room in my safe, and since I'm in an apartment I really can't get another safe big enough to hold all of my rifles.

Any thoughts?
