There is a garage I hang out at once or twice a week to talk about cars and stuff in general. So does one of these guys and the other one works there. Apparently they both took a vacation to Colorado and had an attack of the Stooooopids (DUH.......Lets blow some thin up dude..... DUHHHH ) Check out the story at   http://www.9news.com/storyfull-search.asp?id=5117   Needless to say that I won't be seeing them down at the garage any time soon.

Aw c'mon, boys will be boys. Minor crap, did they destroy anything or just make a general nuisance ?

Yep, boys will be boys.  I have no problem with their tinkerin'.  It's setting the stuff off in a neighborhood that worries me.  When shrapnel ends up in your neighbor's yards, then you're WAY too close.  Time to find a nice, isolated piece of woods.

A couple of buddies of mine in high school would do stuff like this all the time.  They even went so far as to make primitive fuel-air explosives: homemade blasting caps + ANFO + gasoline.  This was 15 years ago, and nobody had ever heard of domestic terrorism.  They never even came close to hurting anyone; it was just one big fireworks show.  After OKC, the atmosphere changed a lot; I don't think those guys would even dream making any of their ammonium nitrate cocktails today.
