I keep hearing on CNN that the Attorney Gerneral is suppose to make an annoucement that names submitted to the NICS system will be held for a shorter amount of time. Any idea whats going on with this.

The last that I heard on this is the AG said 6 months is too long and it should be change to 1 day. Keep your fingers crossed.

Latest word is he is going to sign a regulation this week to cut the time to three months, and is going to start a regulation to trim the time to one day.
A regulation takes a long time to happen. The three month deal is a hold over from the Reno days.
There has to be publishing of the proposed reg in the Federal Register, then comment periods, sometimes hearings, then publishing the comments, sometimes more comment periods...
