So there was rumour that a sequel to the 1994 movie Stargate was to be made but never was.
I'm not sure how you do a sequel to that movie? I understand the spinoff TV shows. |

Exactly like the show? But with one-L-O'Neil?
Besides, at the end of the movie they still have a functional, if temporarily limited, stargate, and per the show they have a second gate in Antarctica, bajillions of aliens zip around in FTL ships, and at least one ancient automated seeder ship that revisits old stargate posts. |
| Apparently the guy who wrote the story was upset that a spin-off series was made as it did not fit his story at all. He had intended Stargate to be a trilogy and he still wanted to make the two sequels but outside of a niche following I doubt it would get much attention with the success Stargate has had as a TV show because the storylines have almost nothing in common. |
