Had a double kegger at the house Friday. Kegs were $99 a pop. One guy paid for one, me and my roommate split the other. However, Friday, I gave him $100 since he didn't have the cash on him.

At $5 a cup, I was told we ended up with $201. Shouldn't I get my full $100 back since the other $50 was never given to me? Just want someone to check my math since for whatever reason when money is changing hands I get bogged down on who owes what and I want to be sure before I mention anything.

Yep, everyone gets back what they actually paid in plus $1.

No offense but it seems a little remedial math might be needed.

Your budy should give you back $150. $50 for what he borrowed to pay for the keg and $100 for your 1/2 of the money earned, let him keep the dollar as good will.

ETA: NVM you didn't split the money earned for the gets in 1/2, but 1/3. Therefore you are entitled to $67 for the money earned and the $50 you loaned your pal, or he can just call it square and give you his 1/2 of the earnings.

what did you guys read

person one payed 100 for keg (A) get his 100 back

person two and the OP( OP lent the guy 50) split keg (B) get their 100 back. roommate forfeits his 50 for the loan

So two people payed 100 a piece, 201 was made, so 100.50 each

This is not that hard, but we will round the numbers.

1 keg=$100
2 kegs were bought=$200

One keg was paid for by one guy the other was paid for by you, since your friend is an ass. I mean didn't have the money.

$200 was made

You get your money back
The other guy gets his money back
Your friend didn't pay a dime and no real profit was made so he only deserves a smack in the back of the head

If he only gives you $50 that means you are out $50 and he made $50 for not a damn thing.
