[ARCHIVED THREAD] - So, was I wrong? (Page 1 of 3)

I am sitting in my lawyers waiting area. A Mom walks in with three kids in tow, sits them down and then goes out into the hallway to talk on her phone. While she is gone (maybe 3 minutes later) her youngest climbs on top of a chair, the chair flips over and the kid goes tumbling and starts crying (screaming really). I tell her older brother to go find his mother. He comes back maybe 10 seconds later with her. Mom picks up her crying child AND THEN glares at me like I should have done something.
1) I did not see the child climbing on the furniture until it fell over. 2) I don't touch other people's children. 3) the kid was breathing, not bleeding and not trapped. Was I supposed to have done something other than tell her sibling to find their Mother? Be brutal. I can take it if I'm the asshole

Was the mom hot?
Seriously though. I don't think I could just sit there and watch the kid scream. Maybe I'm a pussy or setting myself up for some horrible lawsuit (doubt it) But if I see a kid hurt themselves and the parents aren't in the immediate area, I'd go over and help the kid back up and try to help them calm down while someone went to find mom. Or I'd go find mom. I'm kind of hardwired to jump in and try to help when I see something bad happen to someone. And since having kids, I hate seeing anyone's kids get hurt. |

Earlier this year I was in line at a snack bar at an amusement park. Young mom with kid in stroller in front of me. She let go of the stroller to place her order. We were at the top of a huge hill and when she let go the stroller started to roll down the hill behind her. I jumped out and grabbed the handle, she then turned around and put the brake on the stroller.
All I got from her was a dirty look. That kid would have been seriously hurt as there was a metal fence at the bottom of the hill. |

Unless the child needed immediate metical attention, not your circus, not your monkeys. Still not his problem unless if he's a trained medical person. This is GD. We are all smarter and better qualified than any doctor.

Don't let people punk you like that OP, challenge them with a "whats that look for?" or "is there a problem?" The muther fuckas gotta know that us normal people are not their to be their entourage.
I had some lady pull this shit in walmart (yeah I know). I was in the 20 or less line with 3 things in my hand and this bitch behind is me all bitching to her co-shopper all loud like "I don't know what this guy is doing" she said it like 3 times so I turned around and said, "can I help you with something" and they backed the fuck off. Morale is people are pussies, call them on it. |

From my vast experience, it is very similar to the judgemental "my eyes are up here" look but with more disgust. Quoted:

glares at me like I should have done something. What does that look like? From my vast experience, it is very similar to the judgemental "my eyes are up here" look but with more disgust. So you're saying Mom had a nice rack?
