Everyday driving home from work I sit in traffic fuming at the cheap SOBs who think its ok to pass dozens of cars on the shoulder or an ending lane only to put on the blinker wanting in ahead of everyone.  Well today I had enough, teenage girl talking on her phone with the music playing loud enough for France to hear came barreling down the lane that had turned into the shoulder, pulled up right next to me and put her blinker on.  I sped up and blocked her from getting over as did the guy behind me.  She looked at me and pointed in front of me as if to ask "I'd would be hot if I wasn't being a complete idiot, can I cut in front of you?"  Even though my window was up, I yelled at the top of my lungs NO.  Then ensured she did not get over for a few more cars.  Yes society is better today, everybody take my lead, start tommorow after work!

Hell, I already do that... Just pisses me the fvck off when people let these dim wits in front of them.

Ah yes, I love the "special" people. The good old people that think they are more special than anyone else waiting in traffic and deserve to use the shoulder/exit ramp/entrance ramp as their personal passing lane to get ahead of all the pions. May the "special" people all have numerous and frequent engine troubles and flat tires.

Oh ya, that is one of many of my traffic pet peeves.

And I often do the same thing.

What REALLY pisses me off is that one car in front of me who lets those dickwads in right when I'm ready to play traffic nazi with their punk asses.

In Seattle, those asshats are legion. Usually an 18 wheeler or SUV will just start pulling over without giving you a choice. I've seen with my own eyes, people come up on the right and stuff somebody into the next lane. I've seen people rub bumpers and even peel off somebody's bumper, forcing their way into a lane. Fuck 'em, I tailgate in backups and don't let them in.

I'll admit I do it. The right lane exits back up for miles. I'll fly up the left lane and cut in at the last minute.

My commute to/from work is 20 miles. By cutting in I can reduce my commute down to 30 minutes from the hour it would take if I didn't.

I wouldn't have to do this if the socialists running this city would spend some $ to expand the roads instead of building fucking light rail that doesn't go anywhere (Thanks Ventura you fuck).  Most of the major freeways running through this town of 2.5 million people are 3 lanes wide at the most. This was fine in the 60's but just doesn't cut it today.


Oh yeah, don't like that I cut? Fuck off! You have the chance to do it. If everyone did it I wouldn't be able too.

Last night, there was a bad car accident about 3 miles from my house.  My wife and I were on the way back home from the family farm.  We saw the road flares, came to a stop, and figured we'd have to wait about 20-30 minutes while the police & FD cleared the road.  Not a big deal, as we weren't in a hurry.

Just in front of us, three dumbasses had their cars parked in the oncoming lane.  No traffic coming through, but still.  Finally two of them moved their cars.  Another left about half his car in the wrong lane.

10 minutes later EMS shows up (presumably to collect the bodies, as it was a horrible wreck).  They have nowhere to turn around at the accident site, so they need to come on up the road a bit to turn in someone's driveway.  They had to go over in the ditch to get past that dumbass who had his car in both lanes.  Said dumbass is standing about 15' away not even paying attention.  Doesn't even bother to move it for them on their way back to the accident site.

Then I've got a dumbass directly behind me that pulls up to within a foot or two of my rear bumper.  I had left a space between me and the car in front of me, just in case.  The car's passenger starts yelling at me to move up.  That goes on for about five minutes and then they shut up.

Wait another 10 minutes and they decided they don't want to sit there any longer.  So they swerve out into the left lane and just drive down the road towards the accident site.  I hope those fuckers got a ticket for pulling that shit.

Another 10 minutes and the traffic starts moving again.

I hate impatient fuckers.  And I hate shitheads who find it necessary to drive on the shoulder and then think I should let them back into my lane.

I'm still waiting for the day when I can screw the guy who is going just under the speed limit and stays in the left lane of the highway up until his exit and then changes lanes to so he can exit.  I want to get in the right lane next to him and pace him so he can't get over forcing him to miss his exit.  If the bastard wants to drive slow...so can I and he can figure out how to get turned around on the interstate.  I've come close to doing this a couple times but have never pulled it off.

If I can see them coming in time, I straddle the lane just far enough to keep the assholes from getting by.  The state highway I take on the way home had many serious accidents caused by passing on the shoulder - there are left turn lanes at several interesctions now, but just 6 miles North the same crap is still going on.

Returning from the NRA convention in KC a couple of years back, some moron pulling a utility trailer at least 20 feet long tried this crap on I-70. east bound I-70 mostly runs at 76-80 mph between KC and Columbia.  

Tailgating and flashing your lights is guaranteed to get you slowed down to 45 or so on the interstate, less on side roads.

I met a car today on my way home. I hate traffic.

Yeah, everyday for the last 2 weeks I have had to sit in construction traffic, 2 lanes, while in the left lane 1 mile from where the construction cones start closing the right lane.  There have been several cars for the last week that have gone right on by everyone else just to slide in right at the start of the cones ahead of all others.  Yesterday I did what 18 wheelers will occasional do.  I stayed in line in the right lane right up to the cones but several people just hit the shoulder and went around me.  Today, I was 2 cars in front an 18 wheeler so I stayed in the right lane with the 18 wheeler falling in behind me.  Needless to say no one went around him although several tried.   Others in line were smiling and honking there horns by the end of the 2 lane road.  I had no problem falling back into the open lane once I got to the construction cones.  One guy that was trying to pass made it a point to catch up to me and flip me off.  Very satisfying feeling I must admit.  I can't wait till tomorrow evening.  Makes Friday evening even more special and exciting anticipation.
