So how many days do you wait for someone to respond to your IM before you decide they're ignoring you?

Do we have some sorta IM Protocol Etiquette or something?

Where's that Miss Manners whacko.

One day. Send one more. If they don't respond, they're ignoring you.

Not everyone spends every waking moment on arfcom.  I spend a lot of time here, but I was actually bust all weekend.  Wasn't on for 3 days.  Does that mean I'm ignoring someone, or is this someone who has logged on but not responded to IM's

When I get an IM, the entire screen fills up with a notification.

Not even sure how I set it up like that though.

Wouldn't I get a notice of "user not accepting IMs" or something?

Have seen those before.

Also sounds reasonable.

Didn't think to see if they had logged on...I'll check.

ETA:

Sent 2 IMs yesterday.

1 person hasn't been here in a few days, the other posted in the last hour.

Yes you should, but stranger things have happened around here.

If they have logged on, and they did receive your IM, then they would know it. You can't miss the big black screen notifying you of the IM.

If they choose to ignore you, then that is there choice. It may be rude, but we can't help that.

I dont remember ever getting a big screen notifying me of an IM...

Only thing Ive seen is the little 'envelope' in the upper left hand corner turns into a yellow circle, or is it a bulb? Never paid much attention to it...it just turns into something not an envelope that is yellow.

I miss the 'gun shot'...but I can see how that would be problematic.

If it's a movie/tv quote, I'll never get it as I don't watch much if any.
