I am looking at getting some snake boots for turkey hunting.    Any recommendations for any under $200?

Chippewa snake boots were so universal around our lease it was practically a uniform item.

You laugh, but we hog hunt in the swamps of south GA barefoot. Moccasins and copperheads everywhere.  Situational awareness is a lot better than relying on a boot to protect you, especially with snakes that can hit your thighs

I will be hunting in the hilly management areas with copper heads and timber rattlers.  Ran across a 5 ft rattler just hanging out beside a trail and never saw it until I had almost stepped on it.  Screw barefoot I don't see how you do it.

You only need snake boots if your hunting in your skirt

Correct me if I'm wrong (im not) but doesn't one generally hunt turkeys with a shotgun?  You know, the most effective snake killing weapon in existence?

Taking a step or two back...or to the side to avoid the snake is a lot more effective.

I submit that it is much easier to kill a snake with a shotgun than by doing a river dance impersonation near it.

Rocky's, most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Always have them on when in the field.

Sorry based on my experience a shovel is the most effective snake killing weapon in existence.

Nothing wrong with dancing a jig now and then, though I generally just move the snake if I can't take a few steps around it.

Got a pair of Rocky pullons. Lightweight, comfortable and cost around $130.  Ive had them several years so I dont know the current costs.

Best affordable snake boots out there.  I highly recommend them.

Cabelas Snake Boots

They have insulated ones also if needed.

Another vote for Rocky boots.  Lace up here and they seem to last forever.  Wore snake chaps when making timber years ago but boot are added insurance for walking around in the dark or low light situations.  Grew up in the S. GA swamps.  Everyone here knows a boat paddle is the Greatest Snake Killing Weapon known to man.  Nothing better than ambushing them sunning on a log.
