Decided to try a small gardden watering project today. A gravity feed drip system for the veggies. Built a heavy stand to support a 50 gallon drum and did a 'proof of concept' plumbing job to see if it had enough pressure to get all 10 drip emitters working. Success! Now I just have to dig down for the hard line to each of the three beds, install a three way shut of valve, and run the 1/4" line and emitters for the other two beds. Quoted: Nice. Are you going to make some kind of rain-catch system for that? Might make for a good system for keeping my crepe myrtles around the house watered. eta: Ah, I see. Still beats depending on timers. With the emitters I used (1/2 gallon er hour) this system will only use 5 gallons per hour for each bed. So an hour a day for each bed will provide more than enough water for the off days when the City says I can't water due to the drought. |
