I felt the same way when I first started. Now I love it. Find a mask that works and after a few weeks, you adjust.

Had the sleep study.  My oxygen saturation at one point got down to 53%.

Stick with it.

Man, mine was a low of 85% and Dr, said, "Ummm, this is really bad, ummm kay?"

Yeah I'm gonna use it, get used to it.

Thing is, I had no idea. I don't wake up at night except once to take a leak, I dream very vivdly, feel fine when I wake up. But there was the graphs and all showing my sleep is all fucked up.

It took me a couple weeks to get used to the CPAP.  Stick with it, it's worth the trouble.  Losing weight helps.  Strenuous exercise before going to sleep helps.  Melatonin helps, I prefer it to other chemistry.  Staying away from the computer or television or video gaming before going to sleep helps.  Good luck.

Seems I don't know many people who have had sleep studies and don't walk away with a CPAP

Not that I'm saying you are but most people I know on them are excessively overweight too. I wonder if there is a correlation?

I use the nasal pillows type of mask.

Very comfortable and the smallest and lightest option.

Concerning the part in red, Google for a freeware named Flux and read the science behind it. It will help you understand how acclimated bad habits light interrupting the natural light cycle interferes with your body's ability to regulate your sleep through the timely production of Melatonin and interferes with your production and regulation of hormones.

If you make an honest effort to control your exposure to wavelengths of light at unnaturally occurring times you will be shocked at the effect it has on your body's sleeping habits.

Looks like I'm gonna have to do one myself.  I snor horribly enough to make my wife not sleep.  Best sleep she has got lately is with me sleeping in the other room and this week with me being gone for the week.

I am not excite about it.

Make sure you wash up or go straight home from the test. The glue on the sensor will leave your head looking like you just got out of a gay orgy.

I was the same way man.   My saturation was down about 55 % and I don't even snore. Our sleep habits are very interesting to say the least.  Now the wife's far worse off than I am but she absolutely refuses.  Myself I just use a fisher pakyl nasal mask.  My cpap is a lil different than most because I drive tractor trailer for a living and it has a jump drive built in if the scale houses that are set up for it to read my hours.  I say big brother uses it to compare to my logs as well but that's a whole different story all together.

Personally I say its a godsend as well due to my energy levels and when I wake up I'm not as tense. I don't need coffee ne more in the mornings. There's been a lot of pros that outweigh the cons.

I just rechecked my numbers from 2001.  My Oxygen Saturation level dropped to 36% at one point.  Maybe thats why they stopped the Sleep Study....

You will get uses to it, I did.
