It has fuckall to do with the bankers. Beer was $10 a pop when I lived there, more than a decade ago. All of Scandinavia likes to bone drinkers with insane "sin taxes". View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

That's an accurate assessment as far as I can tell. The locals even have a stigma against cavorting with the tourists. Keep in mind, it's mostly tourists anywhere you go. I was there for over two weeks last year and camped around the island. Amazing scenery. Everything away from the south is pretty desolate. There are tons of tourists in the south. If you go, book a room at the Kex hostel while in Reykjavik. I also know a few sick spots that the tourists don't know about. Also keep in mind everything is really expensive because the bankers fucked them over. Be prepared to pay $10 per beer. Edit: also, hitchhiking around the island is feasible. A lot of people do it. Try to check out the Westfjords if you can. Only 14% of tourists ever go there. Were you living in Reykjavik? |

Take the tour down into the volcano Snæfellsjökull. You will exit in Italy via Stromboli.

Been there and loved it. Eat some whale so you can freak out the libatards when you get home. Stop by the Blue Lagoon on the way from the airport to your hotel. Rent a 4x4 go to the glacier where you can see the volcano and crank up Immigrants song.

Black men slay all the poon they want, seriously. None of my black friends understood that us blonde hair blue eyed 'mericans couldn't get any play at the nightclubs while they could walk in, and walk out with a lady in ten minutes. I visit often. Iceland Air allows you to lay over up to seven days in Iceland before continuing on to another European destination. Most everything worth seeing is within a couple hours drive of Reykjavik. View Quote Iceland Airlines is pretty nice too. |

I've never been there. The European USMC command includes Iceland. Met 2 guys stationed there at conferences and training.
They all bitched about the prices there. Everything is imported. Tariffs on imports and the cost involved with shipping are passed on to the consumer. Neither guy acted like the women were into American men. Rota Spain where I was at, on the other hand has quite friendly women. Very few single guys left single. Good Catholic girls are saving the vagina for marriage so they do butt sex instead. |

No one mentioned they drive on the roght sode of the road and have the same traffic lights as us?
Yea you can drive all over with nary a problem. Get tired of Reykjavic you can hope in the car and drive to aukureryi or however you spell it. Also their electrical outlets are 100% retarded. Otherwise it was a fun trip and very easy to get around and see what you want to see. Most icelanders speak english to some degree even out in the boonies where we traveled. |

that is what my BIL did after his divorce. Stayed at an Air BnB and had a great time. Volcanos, northern lights and some pretty hot Scandinavian women.

Just there in March.
Go in summer. Some places aren't accessable in winter, i.e. most of the NW penninsulas. Anyway, do the golden circle, takes maybe two days. We failed to prep to hike up to Glymurfoss. You should not fail to prep for this. Wait til you're out of Reykjavik to buy supplies. The regular super markets are less than half what shit costs in the city. The whole blonde goddess thing is wayyyy over-exaggerated. I personally didn't think their ratio of hotties was any better than most places. |

Speaking even some spanish and having basic good grooming ups the game. But yes, since 'working' is legal. And plenty of hot 'non-working' ticas need a bit of help with their rent. Anyone that showers, brushes their teeth, shaves and isn't terrified of women can have a bevy of caliente chicas in short order. Or, you can drop thousands in the frustrating chase after gringas that think their vagina is some unobtainium and fap to internet porn. Me? Pepper your Angus Get ready to pay 40 USD for a McDonald's meal there View Quote ETA The prices for food and beer are around the same where I live. 17 for a quality burger and fries and 8 bucks plus tip for a pint of beer. Theres no tipping in Iceland. Gas is around 8US for four liters but its a higher octane rating, the cars get better mileage and the speed limits are slow so the needle never really moves. |

Recently divorced and chose Costa Rica to visit.
Amazing and diverse place with awesome people! Climb a volcano one day, surf the next. I prefer warm places over cold as we've had a cruddy winter in the PNW. |

Go to Japan.

Iceland is amazing, go!!!
I went on a 10 day horseback riding trek there a few years ago (June, perfect weather), and am going back for my honeymoon. Reykjavic is fun, but get out and go see the glacier lagoon and other places along the ring road like Myvatn. It is expensive, but you can't go wrong, and you can pretty much camp anywhere if you want to save money that way. Hot tubbig and drinking are national pastimes Look on TravelZoo's Top 20, they have Iceland deals once in a while. Wow Air and Icelandair both do free layovers on the way to Europe. Seriously, go. |
