To distinguish the hard-core early members of the NSDP party from the masses of late joiners (who joind the Party when it became respectable and after the hard-fought street battles with the Communists were over), the Nazis came up with the "Altekampfer" insignia, which was a chevron worn on the lower sleave.

To distinguish those of us who have been shooting ARs for many years, I think we should adopt such a device; perhaps an AR profile patch with below it a stripe or chevron denoting how many years we have on the rifle. Maybe it should be in black (of course); guys like myself who started on SP-1s over 20 years ago would rate Gold stripes.

Just thinking out loud here...

Brownshirts are to brown rifles as blackshirts are to black rifles.

The TRUE, ORIGINAL gun is the AR-15. It came before the M16

Wasn't the AR-10 first, then the AR-15?

If I recall my Black Rifle book, the AR-10 was the prototype, the AR-15 was released to the public, then the military adopted the M16

I forsee a mass exodus of Galil shooters from arfcom...

This thread needs less AR history and more making fun of this stupid idea.

While we are at it we can re organize the titles on the website. Mods can be Gauliters, Staff can be Reichsleiter , team members become Anwärter and non paying members are Anwärter (Nicht Partei).

Sure why not. It would delineate us from the sheeple with our EBR award based on aforementioned idea using time behind the trigger

We live in an age of Miracles and Wonders.

The only thing we used to be able to do with our SP-1s was to put the 3X scope on the carry handle.

Which of course we did, because we could.

I would like a special "T" insignia under the chevron to indicate the sacrifice of those individuals who have strapped thousands of dollars of high-speed crap to their lightweight carbines.

T!

Yes we should. It should resemble a union, with benefits and seniority. All newcomers should have to submit to the TRUE hardcores and pay a tax in ammo and load their magazines for them. Also, The True Ones should use camo paint to mark a bullseye on their ass to give the newbies sufficient guidance. There will be awards and ceremonies and bullet-shaped buttplugs. The band will play "Eye of the Tiger" as the subjects look on in awe as the True Ones battle for the Top Position with their receipts and Proofs of purchace.

I got my first AR in 1982. The receipt is long gone
