All I need is the upper, should I just buy the kit to have extra parts in case of emergencies?

If you don't already have a complete lower parts replacement kit then I highly suggest you buy the whole kit.  It isn't that much more money.  And I suggest you get a differant buttstock than you have now so you can switch them out as you like.

sgar15 is right, if you break a trigger spring or whatever just dig out your stash when you get home and fix your problem . i broke an extractor at gunstock and was very glad the vendor tent was there.later
