Ok, so it's been mentioned several times in prior threads that it really confuses people when a member changes his/her avatar. Most members know posters by their avatars. Should your avatar be like your username as in "choose wisely" because it's yours for as long as you are here?

....how about if someone had it before you It's off limits? I have my doppelganger running around with this one I've had since 2001....

Absolutely!
We need more rules to protect the simple-minded!!! |

... I say no - a lot of cock-sucking males use women in their avatars in the hopes you'll like them better

Uhh no, twice I've encountered newbies who had my avatar and refused to change theirs so I changed mine and moved on with life.
|
|
Wish I could have kept mine....I couldn't get it to fit the new forum regs...

i don't like it when people change avatars, but i especially don't like it when people make rules to try to control other people.
|
|
Heck no.
If you let your membership, your avatar goes away. I'd call that a change. I'm still campaigning for an option to turn off avatars on the site, and I listed my reasons why. At this point, I'm happy with the site changes. |
|
I do not change mine very often (this is my second in my time here) but if someone wants to, they should be allowed.

You live in a HOA don't you?
I do identify posters by their avatar more than their name. There's people in the top 25 posters who I don't know by name but know by their avatar instead. |
|
Just seeing what the opinion was on the subject. i knew I would catch hell, and i don't live in a HOA.

87th Rule of Acquisition Every once in a while, change your avatar... It confuses the hell out of your enemies.

It is annoying when I learn someone's avatar and then they change it, but muh freedom.

I chose wisely. It's mine forever, LIBERTY. Change yours as often as you like. Down with fascism.

Anyone who changes their avatar should have their post count reset to zero.
Anyone who changes their avatar twice in a 2-year period is automatically made a 13er. |
|
I voted no. I will admit though it is annoying when long standing avatars change, but it's theirs to change. Meh.
