Air Force One stopped at Offutt AFB to pick up the POTUS this afternoon.
I got to be part of the send off crowd ( not a rent a crowd, EVERYONE wanted to see him, and we kind of drew straws to see who would go )!

Bush arrived in his motorcade, got out and spent about 10 -15 minutes greating everyone.
He said "Thankyou for your service!" President Bush made an effort to shake hands with everyone, and that meant the world to all of us!

Got my Air Force One coin, got my picture taken in front of Air Force One in uniform, and I got to shake hands with the Commander in Chief!

Being in the Air Force has it's rewards at times.

I will, as soon as I get the film developed! I had to go to the exchange and buy a disposable camera, as the visit took us completly by surprise! I shot a whole role of film.

We just came into work this morning, and were asked if we would like a chance to see the president.

One of the aircrew came out to us and started selling Air Force One coins. He sold out in five minutes! Coins are commonly sold to raise money for unit MWR activities.

Wait a second here.....you mean the president didn't make you play catch, or try and snap a football to you? He did'nt try to get you to put on some cammies and go "crawl on your belly to shoot a deer"? Our president was just a real person and shook your hand and said Thank you for your service? Unheard Of! That's why he'll be my President for another 4 years!

I was in the back of the crowd. He walked to the back of the crowd, and gave us in the rear an opportunity to meet him. He saw that we appreciated him being there and made a genuine effort to greet us!

His actions left me with the impresion that he is a real down to earth person, who genuinely appreciates our military service. I certainly hope George Bush is our commander in chief for another 4 years!
