TLC had a show about it tonight.

Some dude goes on a mountain top 26 miles away.  Then hooks up a video camera and tapes the base.

The video is really bad.

I just don't get it?

People are interested in that location because it once housed living aliens along with ship parts from Roswell.

None of that stuff is there now, but it's like Graceland, the King isn't there (alive) but it represents what was.

Why the fascination? Because some people are bored and need a hobby. Granted, some of those people are also super-duper crazy.

*shrug* Camping out on the outskirts of Area 51 and waiting for the flying saucers is probably more fun than golf.

Area 54 is the top secret disco research base. Wth the help of captured alien technology there were doing The Hustle as early as 1965.

All I know is that if they do have some super duper high tech stuff out there, I wish they'd pull it out and use it. Do a flyby of the Iranian Nuke plants and North Korea.

... The mysticism of the "Black world" sparks technically-minded curiosity. Just look how fascinated folks are in the "White world" whiz-bang aerospace shit posted in this forum.

... The veil of secrecy serves two fundamental purposes. It keeps our truly advanced break-through technologies a secret and it clouds the minds of our enemies with a "fog of uncertainty". It's an interesting and cool fucking game to me - as well as many of our military strategists.

Right on.  Curiosity.  Shit, "we" learned of the F-117 10 years after it became operational.  The Alien/UFO stuff is different to me than those wanting to see the latest and greatest .mil technologies.  They fly worker-bees into area 51 in mostly unmarked 737s.  .GOV "acquired' a bunch of land, around Area 51 to push the lurkers further away.  They're either mind-fucking the people or truly trying to hide something.  Either way, it get's the lurkers even more interested.  Oddly enough, people are attracted to the unobtainable.   Kinda sounds like a lot of the posts on ARFCOM.

People on this board believe the POTUS purpousely
engineered 911 and the murder of thousands of
people to motivate America for the invasion of Iraq.

Area 51 and that theory is not hard to believe to those people.
