So murder can get you life.
On lock up, I just saw a guy who has 101 years for attempted murder and deviate criminal behavior. How does one get 'life' and the other 101 years? Same thing? |

I gave up trying to understand prison terms. To many variables involved for justice to be the same across the country.
How is it that a pot dealer can get 5-15 years for a second or third offense yet a child molester or rapist and be out in less time? The scales of justice don't seem to balance very well sometimes. I think in the case you brought up they treated the attempted murder charge as severe as a murder charge. In that case I can agree with it. Seems they just mess around with the term "life" vs serving a sentence that equates to life. ETA the above poster made a great point. I forgot about the possibility for parole. Life terms do not allows for that. |
