I have an older SWD Cobray m11/9 carbine that I'm interested in putting a new upper on. Main reason is better sights, stock, railed forearm, etc.  I'm looking at Lage and Masterpiece Arms.

Does anyone have experience with the Lage 11/s semi auto uppers?  What makes the Lage worth roughly $100 more, when the Masterpiece includes an AR style stock adapter and basic stock?

Does anyone have experience with Masterpiece's MAC uppers?  Would you pay $100 more for a "better" version?

Lage website uses weird frames that I can't link to... but go into the 11s section for their pistol/carbine uppers.

I don't know if Lage uses the same assembly line for both auto/semi.. If they do, you're in for a multi month wait. You could use that time to save up for a full auto M11/9 and put yourself on the list.

Meh, that could be the deciding factor then. I'm not patient.

NFA MACs do look sweet. Just not sure if I or my wallet is ready for fa

Around an eight month wait if it's like any other lage product.

When it comes to MAC uppers-- if Lage is an option, Lage is the answer.

They are ~5k. I don't know your budget, but over 7-9 months i'd think most folks could do that if they really wanted to.

I get your point, but single income + kid, it'd take me a little while to save up.
And this semi auto has sentimental value since it belonged to a family member, so it's not like I'll sell it to get a non neutered version. I'm more interested in just making it more fun/useful to keep around.
