Hi there! Great site. I have been lurking for a long while, and decided that I need to sign up. Just a suggestion, add capability to search message text for strings. The current only looks in topic or author. This would really help to find questions/answers. Thanks! |

I'll hit the search again as soon as the EE is done and rocking... Plans for the search: 1) Full text searching in messages. (Will need to see how much server Util goes up and then decide if its worth it for the main site. I don't want it to slow things down.) 2) Archive Engine/Server. Need to finish this thing up and get it online. You'll be able to search the texts of messages and all messages since the begining of posting. Archive will consist of everything older than three months. There [b]MAY[/b] be an option to "revive" old posts, but most likely they will only be "readable" and can simply be restarted if need be. A few things will be decided as this thing nears completion such asthe ability to search for partial words in the text messages versus full word matches. This means that if you search for "mag" it will only pull up posts where the text matches "mag". (Exact word "MAG" exists in the post... not "magazine") More info as things progress... |
