| I'm not sure this would be the correct place to put this, but my question is- why am I not allowed to search by user name in the search feature? I want to leave positive feedback for a user who purchased something from me, but he never made any posts in my for sale thread, so the only way I know how to do that is to find a post the user made and click the feedback link. Is there some other way to do it? |

You have to be a member to use the search feature.
ETA: you will not get the feedback link unless he posts specifically in your FS thread. Either PM him and have him post "post for feedback" in your FS thread, or just posts +1 thread in the Feedback Only Forum |

Be a member? Right under my username it says "Member". Is there some sort of secret handshake I don't know about? Of the close to 100 forums I'm a "Member" of, this is the only one I can't search by username on.
I'll go put a new post in the feedback forum, but it's pretty silly to have to ask him to post in the thread just to receive feedback. |

Member=registered user with a free account with limited search options. Team Member=registered user with a paid account and expanded search options. The feedback system requiring a buyer post in the items thread was designed to help automate the feedback system, the manual tabulation was a time consuming PITA for the volunteer staff and moderators of the EE. |
