I have been doing these on Friday nights, but have been having to work late the past couple of Fridays.  30 year old aircraft take a lot of maintenance.

How about some commie bombers?

The Russians sure did design some big-ass anti-shipping missiles, didn't they?

What the role of this bomber? ASUW?

Just the name "Backfire Bomber" scared me as a kid in the mid-late 70s. Was afraid they were going to scream in and drop a nuke on us.

Are these from the Thanksgiving intercept?  I bet there were a few pictures taken by both sides.  I've got a good friend who flew F-15s out if Iceland doing Bear intercepts - great stories...

Spooky

It would be really cool if we had a dedicated Aviation Forum around here somewhere.

Wait, nevermind.

If this was a technical thread I would have posted it in the Aviation Forum, but this thread is about sharing cool pictures with everyone in GD.

No luck find a B-52 and a Tu-160 together, but did find a BUFF and a Bear together.

You know those aircrews in the intercepts are pointing like idiots gabbering, "Holy crap,  check out that sweet ride!".

Thanks for the pics!  I love these threads.

I'll add a few of my favorite strike aircraft.  It's not a commie plane, but it is from the cold war:

F111s kick ass, I was told by a Col in the USAF that 111s dropped a special bunker buster on of Saddams Royal Palaces in GW1 that went super deep down.
