Ive just got a Cannon from Tractor Supply right now and its over flowing, so hopefully this works out. My only concern is that it might be a lower priced Centurian model, but those all seem to have hinges on the outside of the door, so I think I'm ok there. You could be right. I cant make out whether it says Centurion or Colonial on the bottom of the door. |

Quoted: Seriously, this is a thread about a safe. Local facebook trade group had a woman selling a "year old" Liberty safe. She doesn't know the model, but shows this picture as the safe. http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss318/jnfuga2/90C74747-2754-4EF6-8200-B2CF96215AC7_zps24d81wou.jpg When asked what model it is, she shows this picture of a Colonial 50 and says its the exact same model. http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss318/jnfuga2/9039E3EF-F542-40F5-BD14-71B83CB7D6D5_zps8rjunvkl.jpg Its obviously not that model, but it looks like a smaller Colonial model anyway, which is still nicer than what I have right now. Shes asking $500 and I was first in line, so I'm going to grab a truck and go check it out after work. Any guesses as to what model it actually is? Anything I need to look for when I check it out? Do Liberty safes usually come with paperwork I need to get? facepalm |

It was a.... CENTURIAN. The exact same safe I asked the lady to make sure it wasn't, and the exact same safe the woman was positive it was not. Looked like the smallest model, and it was rough and smelled like smoke. Her story changed from them paying $2100 for it to them paying $1200 for it (still a lie). I think she either hoped I wouldn't know the difference and would get it, or I would make the trip and decide to get it since I was already there. I thanked her for wasting an hour of my time because she wouldn't walk into the room and take a better picture and left.
I know some of the fault was on me for not asking for better pictures but I thought it was worth the risk in case it actually was a nicer model. So to sum up this thread, no new safe, shady seller, and my guns are all still crowded. |
| What a bitch.. How much trouble is it to walk into the next room and snap a picture.. She wanted to try and screw you. Selling stuff like that I make damn sure all questions are asked and everything is pointed out. I dont want any surprises for a buyer when they show up.. people are shitty these days... |
| When I asked online for her to take the picture, she claimed she was at work and couldn't. When we got to their house, she was saying she was sorry she couldn't help move it because she had been in a bad wreck and hadn't been able to move or work since February. All kinds of shady but a good lesson learned. |
