I think I'm getting old enough to suffer from "this-happened-in-my-lifetime-therefore-it-cannot-be-too-old-or-irrelevant" syndrome. I mean, this movie is TWENTY-THREE YEARS OLD, yet I watch it like it was made last year, bcause I have always watched it this way, becuase the first time I watched it, it WAS 'made last year'.

I saw it when it first came out.  Then when I was in basic training(1984), our Drill Sergeants showed it to us in the transition period between basic and AIT.  It was very much like watching a n episode in this place, with everyone ribbing each other over stuff they did in basic.  The drill's had a ball with us watching it.
