My apologies to Quietshoez- if I offended you with the "cock holster" crack, I apologize. I really was getting agitated that so many were hijacking my well meaning thread. You were just among bad company, and got the original Dissipator556 potty mouth attack. My sincere apologies to Quietshoez---as for the other assclowns, get bent. Good looking out by RAF---now you know why this place isn't getting 60 bucks from me anytime soon. By the way, I hope Eric the Hun kicks all of your asses! |

I didn't lock your post because it was stupid; although misleading people into reading your post and hoping the good-will generated will cause them to join the NRA, etc., IS a stupid idea. I locked it due to flames, as explained. Here's a free tip: Tricking people generally pisses them off, and is not conducive to getting your message across. |

Since we are sharing tips this evening, I have one for you: Tip: most people are smarter than you give them credit for. You locked my thread because you didn't like it. PERIOD, END OF ARGUMENT. Any bullshit excuse that you fart out it merely further insult to my intelligence. You say that I violated board policy by having a pissing match with Quietshoez. Two posts between Quiet and myself hardly constitutes a flame war. The post was locked within 30 seconds of Quiet's last post- just tell me that you subject ALL posts to such a level of scrutiny. Yeah, of course you DON'T. We ALL didn't fall of the turnip truck yesterday, you know. Just have the cojones to say "yeah, I locked your thread because it bothered me." If you said that, you would be "moderator of the week" material, IMHO. |

Here is what I use to evaluate the mod's level of scrutiny: how long does it take the thread to get locked, and how serious a violation of board policy was it? In this case, it was less than 30 seconds, and the 'pissing match' criteria was barely (if at all) established. That tells me that you were just waiting with baited breath for a reason to lock the thread. Come to think of it, you may be doing the same thing now, with this thread, so I will STFU about this. FWIW, I am glad that you guys (quietshoez & dissipator556) got things worked out. I am not trying to flame you or anything, but please consider this though... When you say things like: "now you know why this place isn't getting 60 bucks from me anytime soon." that is kinda crappy. The money is used for 1 thing: To help pay for the bandwidth & hardware that this website needs to keep running, so more and more people can enjoy it, learn new things, and above all, make new friends. The little extras that the team members get for their money is really just our way of saying thanks. Eric |

EricE, your point is well received. I weigh those same considerations against the fact that I resent "payers" thinking they are somehow "better" than their non-paying counterparts. Something about that really chaps my ass, but it is hard to adequately vocalize it to you. Eventually, I will probably ante up and pay the 60 bucks (more as a gesture of respect and thanks to the Avila family, than anything), but in the mean time, I will squawk and holler about why this site hasn't gotten my money yet.
