Have shot a few but don’t own any. Fit and finish was acceptable and it shot ok, little gassy and wouldn’t want to suppress it without playing with the gas.

All of the G rifles I have shot have been very smooth and accurate out of the box. They are my first recommendation when people ask what to buy.

As for the gas block, its not functional damage so at the end of the day, not worth the hassle.

My guess is they'd replace the gas block and level the rail.  Problem is, last time I sent an upper back for a rail that was grossly defected (meaning literally bent and wouldn't allow the barrel to even come close to centering in it), they sent back the upper with a new rail that was straight, but still sent it to me canted like the one pictured above, so even when they're fixing an upper, they still apparently don't do it properly.

*If* this one goes back, I'll toss a level in the box for them since they either don't have one, or theirs is broken

Yeah that’s definitely odd, and would trigger my OCD. I only have a sample of 2 DD, (both the RIS 2) and they were perfect out of the box.

Geissele has enough innovation/quality to warrant their prices, and they’re less expensive than the other “gucci” brands if you’re willing to wait for a sale, which they do quite often.

Their rifles also come with one of the best triggers on the market, so that’s ~$200 you aren’t spending if you’re going to be getting a G trigger anyway.

There are better rails, but it’s a short list, and no one offers them on an equivalent rifle.
