Been sick about a week. Just a spring cold, congested, sneezing, foggy head, scratchy throat. Havent missed any strength training days but have missed three runs.
I usually run three days a week, 2.5 miles in 18 minutes. Tough it out and get my runs in potentially delaying my recovery from being sick or skip the runs until recovered? What the best course in such situations? |

Quoted: My rule of thumb- If I have congestion in my chest, I don't run. If the congestion is in my head and throat, I do. However, if I do work out, it's only to maintain. I take it easy and don't try to set new records or anything. Good advice IMO. I've been very congested in the chest lately (bronchitis I think) and took about 3 days off, and am doing the rest at about 75% (only because I have to because of competition). Head congestion, I'd still run and you might actually find it help a little.
