| just got new AR-15. The 30 round magazines seem to fit and work great when empty. Loaded with ammo, they dont lock in the rifle. They literally fall out on the floor. Whats the prodlem? Me or the magazines? Or both? Thanks for any replies. |

Slap that sucker in, Texan! I guarantee you aren't going to break it. Also, try to use USGI magazines instead of after-market hi-cap mags. They work much better and you will almost never have feeding problems. Welcome to the board![beer] (You are supposed to send the first 10 people to welcome you to AR-15.com a box of Hornady TAP or a 30-rd. magazine, FYI [:D]) |

Agree with give them a slap first. Some mags loaded are a bit harder due to spring rate on the rounds. They will losen with time but a good rule of thumb is always slap them in just in case. This is not unusual for new mags. Obsersvation, the metal mags seem to be more prone to this while the plastic are a bit less. You will probably find less rounds in the mag the easier it goes in. Rule of thumb is if five or ten rounds are a problem then you definately have a mag issue and need to take em back. Of course, all of this is based on your lower being to spec. With the bolt back, this should not be an issue at all. |
